[A neatly wrapped box has been left just inside Siiri's door.
Inside she'll find cookies baked the night before, along with a hair clip that had already been picked out for Siiri. There's also a simple braided bracelet picked up from a craft fair, and a box of chocolates.
There's also a card on the bottom, with a note in Åsa's careful handwriting.]
Dear Siiri,
Thank you for being my friend this year! I'm glad I've had you close. Especially to deal with all the things recently. I'm really glad that we're getting to know each other better now and I hope that continues!
[It's somewhat of a relief to hear Siiri so certain for once, and Åsa sighs into her, certain that this is the right thing to do if Siiri wants it so much.] For as long as you need me. [She promises, holding her a little closer.] Or, well, I'll have to phone work and find out what's happening tomorrow, but aside from that I can stay with you.
[She can hardly tell Åsa that if it was really a "as long as you want", Åsa would never be able to leave her side. So she hums instead in agreement and reclines a bit deeper into the sofa, allowing her eyelids to flutter shut. The pain medication makes her drowsy.]
[Åsa should let Siiri rest, but that also means getting up. Siiri probably doesn't want her curled up while she's sleeping. Although she doesn't mind the idea of sleeping either, that means setting up a bed for herself and... maybe she can nap in a chair once Siiri's asleep.]
Let me get you a blanket. [She offers, softly, moving to stand.]
[But but but she'd like to be curled up with Åsa while sleeping!
Be her blanket instead? Please?
Too bad that Siiri really sucks at making puppy eyes, or forming words... all that she can do is being reluctant in letting go.
Good thing you have a puppy! Floweregg is watching all of this and if Åsa should decide to not curl up with Siiri she'll be told to do so because everyone knows that it is nicer to be close to someone dear when one is hurt or scared or both.]
[Siiri's reluctance to let her go makes Åsa pause, but only for a moment. She does peel herself away, and after a little while returns with a blanket, perching back down beside Siiri and laying it over her.] You should try and sleep.
[Of course Danielle couldn't understand Finnish. As smart as she was, languages haven't been a major part of her education. However, yelling and pointing was still more than understandable, and she starts in that direction. Maybe the woman saw something she didn't-]
[Ah, she did. A subway. And underground could be dangerous...but shew as small and it was farther from the giant snake.]
[It takes only a moment before Siiri is at Danielle's side once she reaches the entry. It's not about going inside, it's about using the cover that the chance to sit a bit lower supplies, like how one would lie down during thunder and lightning in the mountain.]
[She wants to say something else, but then she spots the dog in Danielle's arms.
And suddenly ducks down a bit lower, reaching over to roughly push down Danielle as well (more strength than necessary, more than she knows she has), out of the line of the snake's tail that just as Danielle speaks whips over them, hitting empty air where a person not a few steps down a stairs and ducked down would have stood.
Hopefully it will be gone in a moment, this place is only safer, not safe.]
[Danielle cries out when she's pushed down, hitting the ground hard. Ow, ow, ow. (Well, that's why she said she fell down the stairs later anyway.) She looked down with wide eyes, grip tightening a bit on Floweregg.]
[Don't panic, don't panic, panic won't HELP, she needs to keep it together.]
[As soon as possible, and knowing herself she will loathe the empty flat after that so... maybe after she dropped her off with someone in Vegas who would take her?]
Or find someone for the night. [She doesn't want to postpone the dinner either - they still can have a movie night at a later date, right?]
Parcel; dropped off on the 14th

a few days later; a picture message
She tried to write a proper message for ages and then just settled with this.]
